Terms of Service

Effective August 10, 2026

These terms govern your purchase and use of the Hefty Search app for macOS ("Hefty Search"). By purchasing or using Hefty Search, you agree to them.

Purchases

Hefty Search is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment processing, receipts, sales taxes/VAT, and refund processing under its own terms. Your contract of sale is with Lemon Squeezy; your license to use Hefty Search comes from us.

Free trial

Hefty Search includes a 7-day free trial with full features, one trial per Mac. When the trial ends, continued use requires a purchased license. No payment details are collected for the trial.

Your license

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Hefty Search on one Mac at a time that you own or control. The purchase is one-time, the version you buy is yours to keep and use indefinitely.

• Your key binds to the first Mac you activate it on. You can reinstall, reset, or re-activate it as many times as you like on that same Mac, a reinstall will never lock you out.
• While a key is bound to one Mac, it will not activate on a second. To move to a new Mac, open License… → Deactivate This Mac on the old one, then activate on the new one.
• You may not share, resell, or publish your license key, or use it to provide Hefty Search to people outside your household.
• You may not reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute Hefty Search, or circumvent its license enforcement.

Updates

Your license includes bug fixes and minor updates to the version you purchased. Major new versions may be offered as separate purchases or paid upgrades.

Refunds

All sales are final. We handle refunds case by case, see the refund policy. When a purchase is refunded, the associated license key is deactivated.

Requirements

Hefty Search requires macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later). License activation and periodic re-validation require an internet connection; day-to-day use works fully offline.

No warranty

Hefty Search is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make Hefty Search reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to Hefty Search is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, please keep backups, as everyone always should.

Termination

We may revoke a license key that is obtained fraudulently, shared publicly, or used in violation of these terms.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Changes do not retroactively reduce the rights of licenses already purchased.
